Happy Tuesday Update! 10-30-12

Hi all,

Lots to share with you today, although I will try my best to be brief when writing about each subject.

     First, I am including the QR code to "The Making Of" our scarecrow bulletin board.  You can download a QR code reader (such as Microsoft tag) and scan it right here from the blog to see what we've created in the hallway!  There will be more to come as the children are videotaped reading their scarecrow stories.  Those will be attached to QR codes and then put out by the child's scarecrow.  Such excitement!
     I downloaded Halloween pictures on the blog also - look to see how cute all the kids were in their costumes!  Thank you for sending the treats.  Our Witch's Brew was fabulous.
     We always have Library on E days.  That will be the day we go up for a short lesson and pick out some reading books.  You can send books back to school at any time, and children can walk them up to the library, but E day is the day we always go as a class.
     A little uniform reminder - if your child is wearing pants that have belt loops, then he/she must be wearing a belt.  And shirts need to be tucked in - as the kids grow so quickly, some of them barely fit into their pants!
     We will have Show and Share this Friday.  Remember no electronics, and it much fit into your child's backpack or school bag.  No pressure to bring anything though.
    Our first graders saw the Fire Safety presentation on Friday.  On the portal, in the Lower School Friday Folder, there is a link to the fire safety project that needs to be completed.  There is also a sheet that needs to signed and returned to school.
     Tomorrow is the Black Cat Run in the afternoon, so PLEASE remember to dress your child appropriately for the cold and windy weather.  We will be outside both for recess and the run - it is getting cold!
