Hi everyone!
We are back and have already swung into action. We are already well into Math Unit 5 and finishing up a biography about Thomas Rivera. If your child has a math game bag, please return it tomorrow! I also have a few friends who did not return their Reading Adventure contract this Monday or their signed math tests. If you have either of those items, please send it to school this upcoming Monday in your child's Friday folder. Thanks!
The transition back has been a little bumpy for my friends. If you could chat with your child about being a good listener and leading by example in the classroom, that would be fantastic. After conferences in November, I saw a HUGE difference in classroom behavior (for the better!) because I know there were many conversations had at home. The pace is picking up in the classroom as far as the difficulty in content, and it is imperative that the children have their listening ears on when necessary. Thanks in advance!
Tomorrow is a day to Cheer on the Pack! or your other favorite team. Feel free to send the children in jeans and jerseys! I know I'll be wearing mine!!!!!
We are done with our study of Japan and getting geared up for our next country. Right now we are doing a science lesson on magnets. We have completed 3 of our magnet lessons and were in the lab twice this week. Ask the children about some of their experiments with the bar and horseshoe magnets.
I will be sending an e-mail to all families reminding you of the goal or goals we had set for your child at November's conference and asking for a good time to contact you with a phone call. We can always get together in person if you'd rather. Otherwise, I'll be checking in via phone with everyone for a quick 5-10 minute conversation.
That's all for now - a short post!
Take care and GO PACK!!!
